Sometimes notes can stick, or ring on when they shouldn’t, or even not work at all. The causes of these problems can be many and varied, and this is where I have to be able to see the piano ‘up close and personal’ in order to ascertain the cause and therefore give an estimate for the cost of the repairs. In some cases this may work not be cost effective, and it is up to the customer to make a value judgement upon this, once I have given them the necessary information. I give free estimates for pianos within a 25-mile radius of Petersfield, whereas for any pianos further away than this, I have a call-out charge of between £30 and £50 dependent upon the distance travelled. NB This call-out fee is waived when I carry out agreed repair/restoration/tuning work
